Intel Core Ultra 200S CPUs See Up to 46% Price Drop in China
The Chinese market is seeing huge price cuts on Intel’s Arrow Lake-S “Core Ultra 200S” desktop CPU lineup. Discounts reaching almost 50% off the original MSRP are aimed at increasing the appeal of these processors against their main competitor, AMD Ryzen.
Although the gaming performance of Arrow Lake-S chips is not considered their strongest point, they stand out for their solid multithreading capabilities. Intel’s aggressive pricing campaign in Chinese retail stores appears to be a direct response to lower-than-expected sales figures.
Price Reductions for the Core Ultra 200S Series in China
- Core Ultra 9 285K (High-End): The flagship 24-core chip dropped from 4,799 CNY to 3,599 CNY, a 25% discount.
- Core Ultra 7 265K: Its price fell from 3,199 CNY to 2,049 CNY, marking a 36% drop.
- Core Ultra 5 245K: This model received a 42% discount, going from 2,499 CNY to just 1,459 CNY.
- Core Ultra 5 225: Leading the price cuts, it saw a massive 46% reduction, dropping from 2,149 CNY to 1,159 CNY.
These Core Ultra 200S discounts aim to improve the price-to-performance ratio. While switching to this platform still requires an additional investment in a new motherboard using the LGA 1851 socket , and with Nova Lake-S processors expected to launch in 2026, the current price cuts make the upgrade far more appealing than before.
