Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus Appears on Geekbench With 18 Cores and 5.3 GHz Boost

Intel Core Ultra 250K Plus

The Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus has appeared online in a Geekbench listing, giving an early look at the performance of Intel’s upcoming Arrow Lake Refresh processors. The CPU is expected to launch next month and should be priced under $300, making it a solid option for users looking for good performance without moving to high-end models.

From a technical point of view, the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus represents a clear step forward compared to the current Core Ultra 5 245K. The new processor features 18 total cores, split into 6 P-cores and 12 E-cores. This means four additional efficiency cores compared to its predecessor.

According to the listing, the processor runs at a base clock of 4.2 GHz and can boost up to 5.3 GHz, which is a 100 MHz increase over the 245K. It also comes with 30 MB of L3 cache and 6 MB of L2 cache, and it is compatible with the latest LGA 1851 motherboards.

The Geekbench 6.5.0 test was carried out on a system using an ASUS PRIME Z890-P WIFI motherboard and 32 GB of DDR5 memory. The results show a score of 3,113 points in single-core and 15,251 points in multi-core. These numbers are not groundbreaking, but they align well with the idea of a refresh focused on small but meaningful performance gains.

The Core Ultra 5 250K Plus is part of a wider lineup that also includes the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 9 290K Plus, both of which have already appeared several times in benchmark databases.

All of these CPUs are expected to be the final generation for the LGA 1851 socket, before Intel moves to the new LGA 1954 platform. This new socket will be used by the upcoming Nova Lake processors, planned for release later this year.

In terms of power, the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus should offer a noticeable upgrade over the 245K while keeping a 125W TDP and a PL2 limit of up to 159W, making it a balanced option for mainstream desktop systems.
