Intel Nova Lake-S Could Be Presented at CES 2027

Intel Nova Lake

Intel is expected to introduce its next major CPU architecture, called Nova Lake-S, during CES 2027. This new series, which will likely arrive under the Core Ultra 400 name, is seen as Intel’s big answer to AMD’s strong position in the desktop PC market.

Nova Lake-S will not be a simple refresh. It is expected to be the first Intel CPU series built using the 18A process node.

A Major Step Forward With New Cores and 18A Process

Intel Nova Lake-S Could Be Presented at CES 2027

The new architecture will combine performance cores known as Coyote Cove and efficiency cores called Arctic Wolf. The top models could offer up to 52 cores in total, including 16 P-cores, 32 E-cores, and 4 LP E-cores.

This design aims to improve both power and efficiency, allowing Intel to compete more strongly in high-end desktop systems.

One of the most important additions is the “Big Last Level Cache” (bLLC). This stacked cache could reach around 144 MB in high-end models. The goal is to compete directly with AMD’s Ryzen processors that use 3D V-Cache technology. A larger cache helps reduce latency and boost gaming performance, which is an area where Intel wants to regain ground.

In terms of AI, Nova Lake-S is expected to include the NPU6, which leaks claim is up to five times faster than the unit found in Arrow Lake. The platform would also introduce the new LGA 1954 socket, offering up to 48 PCIe lanes, including 24 PCIe 5.0 lanes, along with improved support for high-speed DDR5 memory.

The official launch of Nova Lake-S is planned for early 2027. More details are expected to be shared closer to release.
