Intel Plans To Sell Mini-ITX CPU Coolers

A leaked product marketing slide from Intel suggests that they will be developing their own retail mini-ITX cooler for ultra thin mini-ITX platforms. The HTS1155SLP from Intel is a small form factor cooler design for DH61AG and other ODM mini-ITX H6X motherboards. The entire unit weighs in at 264 grams for the heatsink and 54 grams for the blower fan. The fan operates between 1180 and 3380 RPM and the heatsink comes with TC-1996 Intel Thermal Interface Material (TIM).

There’s no words on pricing availability or even accuracy of the leak but it doesn’t exactly look far fetched. In the All-In-One (AIO) and Small Form Factor (SFF) space, traditional third party cooling solutions are often not thin enough. Intel’s solutions resemble that of a notebook CPU cooler so will be for very small systems. It uses three 6mm copper heat pipes to transfer heat to a small heatsink array. The blower that ventilates every does support PWM and has a 21 inch cable for flexibility with cable management.

Expect to see these pop up in a variety of mini-ITX and SFF systems with enough space such as the Zotac Zbox or Sapphire Edge PC series. Given the pictured retail box we may also see those sold separately but that is still to be confirmed.
