It’s well speculated, almost to the point of being practically confirmed, that Intel will formally announce the launch of potentially all of the remaining SKUs from its Raptor Lake processor platform. In regards to what kind of performance we can expect from them though, so far Intel has been holding a pretty tight ship. – Following a report via Videocardz, however, leaks have sprung open as benchmarking results from the upcoming non-K Raptor Lake series have appeared online, and in terms of generational uplift, things are looking very impressive indeed.
Starting off with the single-core performance, overall the uplift isn’t that particularly impressive with figures of only circa 3%-10% being suggested. It seems, however, that the improvements and enhancements in the P and E cores really shine through in the multi-core tests as the comparative generational uplift shows figures closer to 30%-60%.
So, in terms of gaming, we’re pretty much looking at only slightly better performance from Raptor Lake non-K processors to Alder Lake non-K processors. In workloads though, Raptor Lake doesn’t just take an apparently clear advance, it takes a huge leap forward!
Given that these are leaked benchmarks from CPUs Intel hasn’t yet even confirmed, take the information provided, as always, with a grain of salt. Overall though, while the multi-core results are impressive, overall it’s a bit of a mixed bag. – I mean, is it going to be worth upcoming from Alder Lake to Raptor Lake? Within the same model, probably not. Of course though, with an official announcement set to be made in a little under 3 weeks, rest assured we’ll be ready to bring you all the news straight from Intel at CES 2023!
