Intel updates their price list today showing clear price cuts on its desktop and mobile microprocessors.
Processors that saw the price decreases were the Pentium E5700, E6700 and Core i3 550 all being cut by 13- 15%.
Other Intel processors such as the Celeron dual core E3400 was cut by a whopping 21 percent leading the forefront on cheaper Intel CPU’s.
Also among these cuts, the i7 640LM and 660UM also saw the decreases, but sadly only by 6 percent and 9 percent.
As you can see from the above pricing restructure, the majority of the processors were once the top models in their categories before being overthrown by newer models.
Due to this new pricing structure being put in place, it now means that there is a lot of confusion in the Intel world. Explaining this in some more detail, we can clearly see that due to the price cuts, the above models are now the same prices as their slower brothers. For instance, the E6600 and E6700 are now the same price, the same with the E3300 Celeron and E3400 are also the same price as each other.
Now call me dumb here, but what one are you going to buy?
The slower one for the same price?
I don’t think so!
