iOS 4.3.4 Cracked over the Weekend

Earlier last week Apple released a software patch bumping the iOS up to version 4.3.4. The update was meant to stop jailbreakers from exploiting a PDF-related hole in the OS. However, it didn’t stop them for long.

iOS 4.3.4, not surprisingly, was jailbroken over the weekend, but unfortunately still requires the iDevice to be tethered to a PC as Browser-based jailbreaking is still out of the question as the web-based method has not been updated.

Before the latest update, the iPad 2 could not be jailbroken through this method due to bootrom exploit limitations. So unfortunately for owners of the iPad 2 they are once again the only owners of iDevices that can’t use their expensive Apple product to its full potential. That said, as more and more apps are adding functionality to these devices there is less and less need for iDevices to be broken. On the other hand, people just love doing it to just put Apple in there place as they are still unable to stop the jailbreakers.
