Denuvo is under new management.
Denuvo is currently one of the world’s top anti-tamper technologies. Therefore, it’s not surprising that large companies such as Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Warner Bros and Lionsgate Entertainment rely on it for protection. Recently, however, a major South African internet and entertainment group has decided to purchase it altogether. We’re talking about Irdeto, which is also one of the largest technology investors in the world. The buyer provides security solutions for digital platforms and applications in sectors such as media & entertainment. Therefore, purchasing Denuvo makes sense.
What about Denuvo employees?
It looks like things will remain largely the same for Denuvo’s staff. Moreover, the company will continue to operate freely under its own brand and services. Denuvo currently holds offices in Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic and the USA. Still, none of them will see any significant changes. Founder and CEO, Reinhard Blaukovitsch, had a few words to say about recent events:
“Irdeto’s global footprint, technology, services and piracy analytics capabilities will help us further expand our market share. We will be better equipped to reach key media and entertainment customers for whom gaming security is becoming increasingly important. Together with Irdeto, our expertise will provide our customers with uniquely powerful security solutions to help them make smarter business decisions.”
What does this mean for average gamers? Well, the anti-tamper tech is here to stay, that’s for sure. Moreover, Irdeto wants to improve on its design, which means that games will receive even better protection in the future. We’ll just have to wait and see if the investment pays off.
