Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Surpasses 5 Million Sales in First Year, More Than Double the Original
Is Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 a success? According to publisher Embracer Group, the answer is clearly yes. The game has surpassed five million copies sold within its first twelve months after launch.
The information comes from Embracer Group’s financial report, which confirmed the game’s performance during both the latest quarter and the full year.
Embracer Group Comments on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Embracer Group stated:
Our performance in the quarter was driven by strong execution across core IPs including Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Dead Island and Tomb Raider driving higher engagement and earnings than our expectations in the third quarter. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II delivered a standout quarter as the release of the third expansion Mysteria Ecclesiae, combined with marketing, influencers and seasonal promotions converted high demand into strong sales.
The company concluded:
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II earned PC Gamer’s Game of the Year and four nominations at The Game Awards. The game is also among the nominees for Foreign Game of the Year at the Swedish Game Awards 2026, the first event of its kind in Sweden. Furthermore, we are happy to announce that Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has surpassed 5 million sold copies within its first year of release.
For comparison, the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance sold around two million copies in its first year. While the original title found success more gradually over time, the sequel clearly benefited from the strong player base built by the first game, leading to higher sales at launch and in the months that followed.
Regarding the awards the RPG did not win, the communications director for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 said he felt the game had been “robbed” at The Game Awards.
With five million copies sold in its first year, however, the commercial success of the sequel leaves little room for doubt.
