Kingdom Come Developer Plan Changes To Save System

Kingdom Come Deliverance
Following its highly successful launch, the Kickstarter backed Kingdom Come Deliverance has been a big success. Admittedly, it’s launch wasn’t without problems, but since the release, the developers have been working hard to improve the game experience.
One such change planned is the alternative of the games controversial save system. A system which has been one of the main causes for criticism off players.
One of the major issues with that game was that you could only save your progress by sleeping in a bed or ‘drinking’ a specific potion. The best example I can give to explain this is that it was similar in style to Resident Evil‘s typewriter. No typewriter or ribbon = No save.
There is, however, a key difference in this analogy. Kingdom Come is set as an open world RPG, therefore, having to get to a specific location to save was tedious, to say the least.
Planned Changes to meet fans halfway
In the upcoming patch 1.3, the developers have promised to fix this, but are only willing to meet fans halfway. The game will include a ‘save and quit’ feature, so if it’s late at night and you want to duck out, you no longer have to get to a save point. This does, however, still mean that the game will not have a quick-save option.
It’s better than the current system, but I daresay many will still not be happy with this.
Better than (nearly) nothing!
The change will make a big difference to the overall enjoyable nature of the game. At least you no longer have to plan your quitting of the game anymore. The lack of any other save feature is still frustrating, but at least the developers are listening.
