Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB Solid State Drive Review

CrystalDiskMark

CrystalDiskMark is a small HDD benchmark utility for your hard drive that enables you to rapidly measure sequential and random read/write speeds.

Here are some key features of “CrystalDiskMark”:

  • Sequential reads/writes
  • Random 4KB/512KB reads/writes
  • Text copy
  • Change dialog design
  • internationalization (i18n)

CrystalDiskMark is an example of the real world implication of incompressible data usage. Whilst the read speeds remain very close to the drives rated speed of 555MB/s, the write speed as expected falls down to just under 270MB/s.

Whilst we do see the USB performance drop down, what is on offer is still going to be more than enough for running a Windows install when on the go.
