KLEVV C910 NVMe Gen4x4 2TB M.2 SSD Review

How Much Does it Cost?

Unfortunately, at the time of writing, I couldn’t find UK stock of the 2TB drive, and while it was on Amazon.com in the US, it wouldn’t give me pricing there either due to region restrictions. However, you can check for up-to-date UK stock here, and US stock here. Furthermore, I did find the 1TB version for just £147 but keep in mind it will offer slightly different performance to the model we tested today. I suspect this drive will be competitively priced though, KLEVV products usually are, and hopefully, there’s more stock at your favourite retailers.

Conclusion

KLEVV may be a relative newcomer to the storage scene, but they’ve quickly established themselves as a brand to watch. The C910 exemplifies their commitment to quality and performance, further solidifying their reputation in the market. They’ve used quality components from well-known brands like Phison, so it’s not that surprising to see this is a quality end product.

Build Quality

The C910 boasts a high-quality build, with its single-sided design and robust components. The inclusion of a sleek aluminium heatsink not only enhances its aesthetics but also contributes to its excellent thermal performance. It’ll be compatible with slimmer systems, consoles, some handhelds, and a wide range of motherboards.

Controller

The Phison PS5021-E21T controller is a proven performer, and it shines in the C910. It efficiently manages data flow and contributes to the drive’s impressive speeds and responsiveness, low power usage and lower temperatures. Sure, there are faster Gen5 interfaces and controllers, but I think this is a good balance of price vs performance for most system builders.

Read and Write Performance

The C910 consistently exceeded its advertised read and write speeds in our testing, delivering a smooth and responsive user experience. Whether you’re transferring large files, loading demanding applications, or shifting massive amounts of smaller files, the C910 performs admirably with faster response times throughout all our testing.

Gaming Performance

The C910 offers rapid loading times and significantly reduces in-game loading screens for those upgrading from Gen3 SSDs or even older SATA SSDs. It’s a quick drive, and will easily handle video capture while gaming too, making it great for content creators.

Thermal Performance

The C910’s thermal performance is exemplary, thanks in part to the included heatsink. Even under intensive workloads, the drive remained cool and stable, ensuring consistent performance. Gen4 drives are pretty well dialled in these days, so efficiency is excellent and heat is easier to manage compared to the newer Gen5 drives.

Should I Buy One?

The KLEVV CRAS C910 M.2 NVMe SSD has proven itself to be a formidable contender in the PCIe Gen4x4 storage market. It delivers exceptional performance, exceeding its advertised read and write speeds in CrystalDiskMark, while maintaining impressive thermal efficiency despite our relentless benchmarking. The drive’s robust feature set, including the optional heatsink, ensures stability and longevity, making it a reliable choice for a wide range of users. Whether you’re a gamer, content creator, or professional, the C910 offers a compelling combination of speed, reliability, and value.
