Latest Kaby Lake Benchmarks Revealed

Intel’s Kaby Lake architecture is scheduled to release relatively soon and supports existing LGA1151 motherboards with a BIOS update. This backwards compatibility makes it a great choice for users to hunt down older motherboards which go on sale to reduce the upgrade cost. Of course, the question remains, how much of a performance boost will Kaby Lake provide over Skylake? Historically, the gains have been minimal as Intel only refines the architecture by focusing on efficiency changes. Despite this, the latest benchmarks conducted on September 29th appears to show what the i7-7700K is capable of. Interestingly, the product running at 4.20GHz manages to achieve a single-core score of 6139 and 20271 multi-core result. To put this into perspective, the i7-6700K tends to hover around 4950 for the single-core and 18750 when benchmarking multi-core performance. As you can see, this is a pretty decent boost in performance:

According to the information in the benchmarks, the i7-7700K could offer a decent boost in performance and I’m interested to see how it fares in other applications. As the release date draws nearer, I’m expecting more leaks to come.
