Leak Source Claims Potentially Insane Specifications for Nvidia 4090 Ti(?)

With the Nvidia 4000 series of graphics cards expected to release around October/November this year, it’s admittedly a little surprising that we haven’t seen more leaks/information surrounding them yet. – I mean, by and large, we already know a few solid details about them and most primarily the fact that they’ll be transitioning to a new “Ada Lovelace” architecture.

In terms of specifications for the models anticipated, however, there is, mostly, nothing. – That is, perhaps, until now. – Following a Twitter post by reliable leak source ‘@kopite7kimi‘ they have suggested some details for an upcoming graphics card that, based on their borderline obscene nature, can surely only be representative of the 4090 Ti!

Now admittedly, and for the sake of balance, the source hasn’t categorically stated that the details provided will be or are from the presumably upcoming Nvidia 4090 Ti. – If the information they have provided is accurate, however, then it’s hard to look past any other possibility. – Citing it as a “full-fat” version of the AD102 SKU, the GPU will feature 48GB (yes forty-eight gigabytes) of 24Gbps GDDR6X memory. In addition, the source also claims that it will require 2 x 16 pin connectors that, by proxy, could potentially mean that whatever graphics card this is, it could potentially have a TGP as high as 900W.

And just to put this into context, this is double what is currently seen on the 3090 Ti (450TGP).

What Do We Think?

Given the current insane nature of the Nvidia 3090 Ti, it did always seem likely that Nvidia was going to push the boat out even ridiculously further with the 4090 Ti. If it does require this much power, however, then I dread to think how fat this GPU is going to be. I mean, the 3090 Ti is a pretty chunky creature as it is gobbling up (give or take) 3 to 4 PCIe slots. – With a potential 900W TGP, this potential 4090 Ti is going to require a hell of a lot of cooling that even the fancy new(ish) system on the 3000 series probably won’t cope with!

Overall though, we’re going to love seeing this graphics card in action. In terms of pulling it off though, Nvidia is certainly going to have their work cut out!
