Do you use Netfilx? Are you with AT&T? If you said yes to both of them then your Netflix experience should get better. Netflix and AT&T have signed a peering deal designed to reduced video buffering on the media streaming service.
There is no news as of yet regarding the financial information in the deal but we do have this statement from AT&T.
“We reached an interconnect agreement with Netflix in May and since then have been working together to provision additional interconnect capacity to improve the viewing experience for our mutual subscribers,” an AT&T spokeswoman said in the statement.”We’re now beginning to turn up the connections, a process that should be complete in the coming days.“
The deal started yesterday (29/07/14 for people reading in the future) and, like the statement said, it should be “complete in the coming days”. Now i’m not sure how long that means but I can imagine it will be complete in about a week or so, maybe less, who knows. If you’re with AT&T and you do use Netflix and you notice a improvement in your streaming performance then you can probably say that you’ve been boosted thanks to this new deal.
