LG Introduces 52-Inch UltraGear Evo Monitor With 5K2K Resolution and 240Hz
LG has surprised the market with the launch of the UltraGear Evo 52G930B-B, a monitor that claims to be the largest in the world to combine a 5K2K resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate.
This massive display is already available for pre-order in the United States, with shipping expected to begin on March 22.
A Massive 5K2K Display With 240Hz Refresh Rate
At the core of this monitor is a 51.6-inch VA panel with a 1000R curve. This strong curve is designed to wrap around the user’s field of view and create a more immersive experience.
The monitor features a resolution of 5120 x 2160 pixels in a 21:9 format. It delivers the sharpness of a 4K display but with extra horizontal space, making it ideal for multitasking or replacing a dual-monitor setup.
What truly sets it apart is the 240Hz refresh rate at this size and resolution, which is a major technical achievement. It also offers a 1ms (GtG) response time, helping reduce motion blur during fast-paced gaming.
In terms of color and brightness, the monitor comes with VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification and covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color range. It also provides a 4000:1 contrast ratio, which is typical of high-quality VA panels, delivering deep blacks and vivid colors.
Connectivity is another strong point. The monitor includes DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI, and a USB Type-C port that supports data transfer, video signal, and up to 90W power delivery. It also supports AMD FreeSync Premium and Picture-in-Picture (PiP).
The official retail price (MSRP) is set at $1,999.99. LG expects shipments to begin in late March. With its large size, high resolution, and fast refresh rate, this model aims to become a top choice for users who want a huge screen without giving up smooth performance.
