Life is Strange: Reunion Launches March 26 on PC & Consoles

It has been quite a journey for fans of the Life is Strange franchise. From the rain-soaked streets of Arcadia Bay to the hallowed halls of Caledon University over the last decade. Now, Square Enix and Deck Nine Games have officially pulled back the curtain on the final chapter of this award-winning saga.
Life is Strange: Reunion
The newly announced title, Life is Strange: Reunion, is set to launch on 26 March. This isn’t just another entry in the series; it is being billed as the definitive conclusion to the story of Max and Chloe. Following the events of Double Exposure, where Max found herself navigating parallel timelines to solve a murder mystery, Reunion sees the return of her original partner in crime.
For the first time in the franchise, Max and Chloe will act as co-leads. Players will alternate between their perspectives, offering two different lenses through which to view the unfolding drama at Caledon University. While Max remains the introspective photographer we know and love, Chloe has grown into her own as the touring manager for the band Drugstore Makeup.
Tell me more
The gameplay mechanics seem to be a “best of” compilation of the series’ history. Max has regained her Rewind ability, allowing her to manipulate conversations, reveal lies, and navigate the mystery of a devastating fire threatening the campus. However, her powers are evolving; a new “Polaroid” ability allows her to leap into the past through a photograph and remain there, effectively creating a “double-exposed” reality between past and present. Chloe brings her own brand of problem-solving to the table. Her “Backtalk” mechanic returns, allowing her to browbeat opponents and navigate the rougher parts of town where Max’s academic reputation might hold her back.

Key features
- Dual Protagonists: Play as both Max and Chloe with alternating perspectives.
- Evolution of Powers: Max’s Rewind returns alongside a new Polaroid-based time-travel mechanic.
- Legacy Choices: The game will respect and build upon your previous choices regarding Arcadia Bay and the nature of Max and Chloe’s relationship.
- Returning Cast: Familiar faces from Double Exposure, including Safi, Moses, and Amanda, will play pivotal roles in the finale.
- The Caledon Mystery: Investigate the origins of a fire that threatens to consume the university.
What we think
The Life is Strange series is certainly interesting, with its unique blend of supernatural and grounded, human storytelling. Bringing Chloe back as a fully playable co-lead feels like the fan service we’ve been waiting for since 2015. It is an interesting move to merge the timelines and give these characters a final send-off, especially considering how much the community values the different endings of the original game.
Where to buy

- PC (via Steam and Microsoft Store)
- PlayStation 5
