Limited Edition DualSense “Marathon” Controller Announced, Price and Release Date Revealed
It’s a big day for Marathon, Bungie’s new extraction shooter. Alongside the game’s release date and preorder details, PlayStation has unveiled a limited edition DualSense controller inspired by the upcoming title.
The controller will hit stores on March 5, the same day the game launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam), priced at $84.99. Preorders open on January 29 at 10:00 AM through the official PlayStation Direct store and select authorized retailers.
A Futuristic Design Inspired by the World of Marathon
Developed in close collaboration with Bungie, the Marathon DualSense showcases a futuristic and industrial design that reflects the aesthetic of the game. As seen in the official trailer, the controller features a white body and triggers, complemented by green and black accents. The Marathon logo is centered on the touchpad, while small symbols and markings adorn the D-pad and action buttons, adding a layer of in-game authenticity.
According to Bungie, the goal was to design something that felt naturally connected to the game’s world — functional, grounded, and authentic. The studio aimed for a look that embodies Marathon’s distinctive style: bold graphics, vibrant colors, and industrial design elements that blend realism with futuristic flair.
Bungie said, “We were excited for the opportunity to commemorate Marathon’s launch with a limited edition design that would excite our fans and our team, and feel like a true part of the world we’re building, something that could exist naturally alongside other objects in the game and feel functional, grounded, and authentic to the universe of Marathon.”
Bungie also noted that the design reflects the balance between form and function that defines the game’s setting — clean lines, purposeful markings, and vivid highlights combine to create something futuristic yet believable.
Preorders for Marathon are now open, including various editions, pricing options, and preorder bonuses.
