Linksys LAPAC2600 Business PRO 4×4 AC2600 Access Point Review

Final Thoughts & Pricing

Pricing

At the time of writing, there are some great deals to be made on the Linksys LAPAC2600 Business Access Point. It is currently only $251.01 through NewEgg, down from $499.99. UK readers can find it at CCL Computers for £375.94 while german readers can find it for €387.34 through Geizhals.

Conclusion

The Linksys LAPAC2600 Business Pro series Access Point with 4×4 MU-MIMO is an awesome little device that will help you broaden the wireless access to your network in more than one way. It is as simple to set up physically as it is to configure and it can be mounted on walls, ceilings, and even on ceiling panels thanks to the included items. The ease of installation is further aided thanks to the PoE+ features that eliminate the need for an external power supply. Everything can be delivered through a single cable, both data and power. But you don’t have to use just one cable if you don’t want to. You can also power it through the included AC/DC adapter and add a second wired network connection. You can then aggregate the two port, but only one of them supports PoE.

The AC2600 performance rating combined with the 4×4 MU-MIMO technology allows the LAPAC2600 to punch through, even in difficult areas such as the one where I’ve tested it. Despite the magnitude of available networks and general interference, the LAPAC2600 easily managed a performance with double the throughput when compared to other previously tested setups.

It is a device that has been designed for small and medium businesses, but larger businesses can benefit equally from the LAPAC2600. With its Captive Portal, it’s easy to set up custom guest access and you can bind the SSIDs to specific VLANs. It also simplifies the administration and management with the Single Point Control, reducing the complexity of managing multiple wireless access points. Central control is awesome when multiple units are deployed throughout the premises and the seamless roaming capabilities between them will make sure that no packets are dropped and you freely can move around with your VoIP or video calls.

Pros

  • Great performance in difficult areas
  • Easy wall, ceiling, and ceiling-panel mounting
  • Centralized monitoring and control
  • Multiple SSIDs per band and captive portal
  • Seamless roaming
  • Dual Gigabit LAN with PoE+ and LinkAgregation

Cons

  • None

“With its seamless roaming, clustering, and Captive Portal, the Linksys LAPAC2600 has features to match its performance. A great choice for your business setup.”
