Linksys LRT214 Business Gigabit VPN Router Review

Final Thoughts & Pricing

Pricing

At the time of writing, the Linksys LRT214 can be found at Amazon for £161.48 or $142.66. A very fair price for such a unit.

Conclusion

The Linksys LRT214 is an amazing little and unsuspicious looking router that makes the use of VPNs as easy as it could be. The general user interface is easy to use and even if you don’t know where something is, you’ll find it quickly. Thanks to features such as OpenVPN and EasyLink VPN, even novice users can take full advantage of a secure connection to your business.

The simple design will make the LRT214 blend into any office environment and it still quick to spot when needed thanks to the blue colored part. The wall mounting ability is a plus, allowing you to get everything away and out of the way of your workers. IT infrastructure has to work, not be noticed. There is a LED for every feature including one for VPN, allowing for a quick status view of all connections. The performance was also great, both during the local benchmarking with pretty much every feature turned on and through the VPN setup. Sadly I couldn’t benchmark the VPN as I used my phone on the road for that, but the connection feeling was as if I was using it locally. The way you’ll want it.

The LRT214 can be a great partner for your business with up to 50 IPsec tunnels for site-to-site and client-to-site VPN as well as five OpenVPN tunnels for iOS and Android users, its 900 Mbps performance through the firewall and 110 Mbps through IPsec.

Pros

  • Great feature set
  • VPN, OpenVPN, and EasyLink VPN
  • Firewall
  • Hardware DMZ

Cons

  • None

“Why bother with troubling setups when the LRT214 offers your business an easy to set up and easy to use, VPN router.”
