Logitech G105 Gaming Keyboard Review

Overall then I am very happy with the Logitech G105 Modern Warfare 3 edition, I was a little sceptical at first, but that maybe in part due to my lack of enthusiasm when it comes to anything about Call of Duty, hope I don’t upset too many fans of the game with that one, its a fun game to play, but it’s just not for me, also the fact that this keyboard can be picked up for around £45 online, which in my opinion is really cheap for a decent gaming keyboard, with most brands entry level gaming keyboards being more around £65 and upwards I wasn’t expecting much in the way of quality here.

But all that was put aside shortly after I started using it, I’ve grown to accept that it has a MW3 logo on the top, apart from the backlight being green in this edition, opposed to the usual blue of the standard edition, this is still a regular G105 gaming keyboard underneath, I do love the look of the green glow from the keys though, think I’ve only turned off the lights once since I set it up.

Brands like Steelseries and Razer have had great success in the past and present with specific title branded peripherals, targeting fans of Diablo, Starcraft, World of Warcraft, Mass Effect and many more, which is something Logitech hasn’t really done before, so it’s good to see them trying out something new and taking their products in a bit of a different direction and targeting specific groups of gamers, let alone specific tastes in style with the G105 MW3 Edition, no coincidence that they picked one of the biggest selling titles in history for this first effort then.

I do hope to see more products like this from Logitech in the future, game branded peripherals can look fantastic and are a great way to fly the colours of your favourite title and add some extra flair to your play / work area, with such a wide range of products available from Logitech it would be pretty easy for them to give their back catalogue a new lick of paint to draw in some new business and tempt people to upgrade or replace their current equipment.

There aren’t many gaming keyboards out there that you would look at twice within this price range, but for those who want all the options and style of a more expensive gaming keyboard, but at nearly half the price, then you will be very happy with the Logitech G105, be that the Modern Warfare 3 edition or the standard G105, which is why I am going to to give this keyboard our Bang for Buck award, while it does perform superbly under gaming conditions and equally well with day to day use, I could have just as easily given it our gamers choice award, but I think its price vs performance just takes the lead.
