MacBook Neo Becomes Apple’s Biggest Revenue Driver in the Latest Quarter
The MacBook Neo has become a huge success for Apple. While many expected the company’s affordable laptop to sell well, Apple’s latest financial results have now confirmed just how strong its performance has been. The MacBook Neo was the Mac product that generated the most revenue during the latest quarter.
Apple held its earnings call a few days ago to discuss the third quarter of its 2026 fiscal year. The company’s fiscal calendar is different from the regular calendar year, and this quarter ended on June 27. One of the biggest highlights was a 25% increase in Mac sales.
According to Apple, the company shipped Macs worth $10.35 billion, representing a 28.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Apple believes much of this growth came from the launch of the MacBook Neo. Before its release, the MacBook Air was the company’s most affordable laptop. The MacBook Neo entered the market at a much lower price than the Air, although its price has increased recently.
MacBook Neo Fuels Apple’s 25% Jump in Mac Revenue
Much of the credit for this move goes to Apple’s new CEO, John Ternus. He believed there was strong demand for an affordable laptop carrying the Apple brand, and that decision has paid off. Some analysts had expected Apple’s profit margins to suffer because of the lower-priced model, but the opposite happened. Product gross margin reached 40.1%.
Apple said product gross margin was 40.1%, rising by 140 basis points compared to the previous quarter. The company also noted that tariff refunds had a positive impact, adding more than 2.5% to the results.
One of the main reasons behind the MacBook Neo’s success has been the education market. During the latest quarter, the laptop became the preferred choice for many schools, replacing Windows laptops and Chromebooks in the education sector.
However, Apple also warned that there could be challenges ahead. Supply limitations mean the company cannot produce as many A18 Pro chips as it would like. Because of this, Apple expects MacBook Neo sales to fall by nearly 40% during the rest of the year if supply issues continue.
