Mario Kart World Has Over 100 Courses, Including All Variations
The release of Mario Kart World is coming soon, with its launch set for the same day as the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5. Recently, more details about the game have been shared, including the fact that it will feature over 100 courses when considering all the variations, as confirmed by Nintendo.
In an interview, the producer of the game, Kosuke Yabuki, explained that Mario Kart World will have many courses and paths, and some of these courses can have different variations, creating a catalog of over 100 different options. Because the game is built as an open world, it is difficult to count the exact number of courses, as there are also off-course areas and connections between different environments. However, the total number of planned courses will exceed 100.
Not Just Courses, But Also Off-Course Areas and More
In the interview, Yabuki shared, “In this game, you don’t just race on the courses. The areas between courses are also used for racing. So it’s as if there are courses spread out all over the world, and if you were to add up all the possible variations, it would easily exceed 100.”
Since the game is set in a single interconnected world, Yabuki said it’s hard to compare it directly with the last game.
Yabuki explained, “Since it’s now a single, interconnected world, it’s hard to do a direct comparison with the last game, but in the pursuit of approachability and fun in this new, vast world, the volume of content we had to create in terms of visual design, programming, and audio increased dramatically. And as a result, the gameplay is more varied than ever before.”
