Mass Effect Legendary Edition PC Requirements Revealed

Mass Effect Legendary Edition PC Requirements Revealed

Today has been a great day for Mass Effect fans. Firstly, we just found out all the juicy details of the remaster this morning. Now, we’re followed up with what it’ll take to get this game running on PC. Electronic Arts and Bioware have revealed the official PC system requirements for Mass Effect Legendary Edition. You might not be shocked to realise that it’s not going to take a monster PC to get it going either, as the underlying engine technology is broadly the same as the originals.

The main upgrades this time around are to some rendering technologies, lighting, etc. Plus, there are new textures, and better and more modern resolution and frame rate support. Of course, you won’t hear me complaining about any of that! PC gamers will need an Intel Core i5 3570 or AMD FX-8350 with 8GB of RAM. So basically, any semi-modern quad-core system will get the job done. Heck, even an Nvidia GTX 760 or 7970 will do the job for minimum GPU, and it’s likely some of you played the original trilogy on those cards!

For suggested hardware, the Intel Core i7-7700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X are suggested, and 16GB of RAM, paired with either an NVIDIA GTX 1070/RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon Vega 56. So again, nothing too drastic. However, they don’t state what bloody resolution or frame rate to expect, which bugs me. We’ll be doing our own benchmarking as soon as we can!

You’ll need 120-GB of free space, but for three games with new high-res assets, that’s really not too bad. Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be available from May 14th.
