Metal Gear Solid V’s System Requirements Have Been Revealed

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is an upcoming open world action-adventure stealth video game that was developed by Kojima Productions and published by Konami. Set to be released for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows on September 1, the game is based on the Fox Engine, and judging by the gameplay trailers that I’ve seen so far, its visuals will certainly not disappoint.

However, in order to be able to enjoy said visuals, you’re going to need a pretty decent gaming rig, at least according to the game’s system requirements, which were unveiled not too long ago. The minimum requirements suggest a quad core processor such as the Intel Core i5-4460, as well as a relatively affordable graphics card such as the Nvidia GeForce GTX 650. The recommended requirements are a bit more demanding, as they include a GeForce GTX 760 and an Intel Core i7. You can check out the complete list below.

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 7×64, Windows 8×64 (64-bit OS Required).
Processor: Intel Core i5-4460 (3.40 GHz) or better; Quad-core or better.
Memory: 4 GB RAM.
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 (2GB) or better (DirectX 11 card Required).
DirectX: Version 11.
Hard Drive: 28 GB available space.
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card.

 RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows 7×64, Windows 8×64 (64-bit OS Required).
Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 (3.60GHz) or better; Quad-core or better.
Memory: 8 GB RAM.
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 (DirectX 11 graphic card required).
DirectX: Version 11.
Hard Drive: 28 GB available space.
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card (Surround Sound 5.1).

Regarding the game’s release on all platforms on the same day, the President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Tomotada Tashiro, stated the following:

“We initially did not think it would be possible to get such an epic game out onto PC in time for launch alongside its console counterparts, but all involved have worked diligently to meet the demands of our PC consumers. Now PC users will be able to explore the vibrant and beautifully-realised locations and set-pieces that elevate Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain beyond all other action titles. We feel confident that Steam users will be satisfied with the contents we will provide for the Steam version.”
