Microsoft is Allegedly Now Strong-Arming the Windows 11 22H2 Update

The Windows 11 22H2 was released on September 30th last year and, overall, it seemed to create a hell of a lot more problems with the operating system than it solved. While I could do a deep dive down the rabbit hole of all the confirmed and unconfirmed issues it had, one consistent report was that following its installation, system performance, (and particularly gaming) would get notably worse. – And yes, this even included yet another problem with printers!

Just to be clear though, Microsoft knew there was a problem with it as for over a month they themselves halted the roll-out process on systems it detected could’ve been negatively impacted by it. – Yep, the Windows 11 22H2 update didn’t do much to enhance the reputation of the operating system. Nor, indeed, Microsoft’s apparent attitude of ‘update now, worry later’.

Fortunately, today the 22H2 update has pretty much had all of its bugs worked out. – If you were, however, still holding out on this one then consider yourself warned as following a report via BetaNews, it seems that Microsoft is now basically strong-arming the update onto your Windows 11 system whether you really want it or not!

Windows 11 22H2 Update is Coming (Whether You Want it or Not!)

According to the report, Microsoft has now effectively started the roll-out of getting users automatically updated to its latest 22H2 release. – You’ll no longer receive prompts or notifications, one day (presuming it hasn’t already happened) you’ll go to switch your PC off and find it’s lurking there waiting for you!

Again though, I should strongly emphasise that Windows 11 22H2 does seem to be completely fixed now. Sooner or later as well, Windows 11 users will (sort of) need to make the update since support for the old version (212H) will officially end around September this year (meaning you’ll no longer receive regular security updates).

And I should note that security is the emphasis Microsoft is placing on this forceful update. A legitimate argument? Ehh, probably. – Make no bones about it though, with them struggling to win people over to Windows 11, moves this like probably won’t help all that much!
