While there was certainly a lot of excitement surrounding the official announcement of Windows 11 last week, it subsequently turned out that behind all the glitz and glamour, upgrading to Microsoft’s latest operating system wasn’t as straightforward as initially suggested. – Put simply, Windows 11, when compared to prior OS launches, sets the bar rather high in terms of system requirements. Even 1st-gen Ryzen CPUs are not compatible with it.
One of the main key ways to find out if your system was good to go, however, was through the utilisation of Microsoft’s PC Health Check app. Even this, however, wasn’t entirely perfect as although it would tell you why your system wasn’t Windows 11 ready, it wouldn’t tell you specifically why. – Following a report via The Verge, however, in addressing this clear issue presented in terms of getting ready for their latest operating system, Microsoft has just released a new version that will now specifically tell you where the issue(s) reside.
Windows 11 – This PC Can’t Run It Because…
With the new updated version, if you have previously been told by it that your system wasn’t Windows 11 compatible, running the new updated version will now tell you specifically why. As we mentioned above, most of the issues reside in CPU compatibility with, in a nutshell, users requiring at least an 8th-gen Intel or Ryzen 2XXX CPU to make the upgrade. It could, however, be something as simple as a BIOS setting that needs altering.
