About 3 weeks ago we brought you the news that Microsoft were planning the boost the performance of the Xbox One by raising the GPU clock speed. Since then Microsoft have confirmed such speculation via Xbox Live’s Major Nelson. Marc Whitten of the Xbox One Team told Major Nelson that:
“We’ve tweaked up the clock speed on our GPU, from 800 MHz to 853 MHz. Just an example of how you really start landing the program as you get closer to launch.”
The developer also suggested that other areas of the device have received significant improvement such as hardware drivers to allow for further optimisations for developers. Microsoft says it will continue to improve and optimise its Xbox One console right up until the next generation console launches which is expected to be in November.
