Microsoft had to push out quite a few bug fix updates recently, but luckily most of the time only a few unlucky people were affected. This was also the issue with the recently introduced bug which caused some Windows 10 systems to have trouble getting an IP address from the DHCP server (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). The issue was first reported by users and later confirmed by several UK and EU ISPs.
Microsoft was quick to respond to this issue and both find the bug and eradicate it. The December 13, 2016, KB3206632 (OS Build 14393.576) patch will fix the issue among other things. Whether it affects the Wi-Fi IP bug we reported on yesterday is so far unknown.
The issue only affected a small and select group of people and those of us that practice safe operating of our PC shouldn’t run into this issue. It’s still great to have the patch tho. The issue in question would happen if the system wasn’t shut down properly and as such a temporary fix was easy to apply as well. Simply reboot the system properly and everything would be back in working order again.
Beside this DHCP issue, the KB3206632 also fixes some other issues which you can read up under the patch notes.
