For those who want to avoid the conventional trappings of an Apple product for something a little different, yet familiar, the Microsoft Surface Pro tablets have proven to be highly popular. Admittedly that popularity hasn’t necessarily translated into good sales with more than a few rumours suggesting in recent years that Microsoft was considering abandoning the market.
It seems that they hope that the new Surface Go can be a success though. As such, following a listing on their official store website, an LTE version of the tablet will be coming this month and is available to pre-order now.
LTE stands for long-term evolution and is, essentially, a platform that allows for 4G operation. As such, compared to 3G this should have much faster internet access meaning a better experience for the user. With the release of the ‘middle of the road’ model last week, this should represent the ‘full bells and whistles’ edition.
The Surface Go LTE Edition will release on November 20th for a price of $679. Coming it at around $100 less than the iPad Pro, early indications suggest that Microsoft is having some success with this range.
