New reports about Microsoft’s second generation Surface RT from Neowin have revealed new details about the devices specifications. Apparently the second generation Surface RT will simply be called Surface 2 and should feature Nvidia’s Tegra 4 SoC.

Additionally the tablet will use a 1920 x 1080 display, a two position kickstand and 4GB of RAM. Microsoft is expected to unveil the Surface 2 at a press event in New York on September 23rd. The Surface 2 should ship with Windows 8.1 RT and will be available to buy in late October when Windows 8.1 launches. Availability should be immediate with the Windows 8.1 OS launch if Microsoft manages to get their timing right. Launch pricing will be similar to the first generation Surface RT’s launch pricing.
