Silent Hill 2 Remake

First, an update on the Bloober Team website hinted at a release on other platforms. Later, the North American age rating board revealed its upcoming launch on Microsoft’s latest console generation.

Finally, and although it hasn’t been officially announced yet, this Saturday the Microsoft Store listed Silent Hill 2 Remake, which according to the outlet TrueAchievements, will arrive on November 21 for Xbox Series.

A Modern Reimagining of a Classic Horror Game

Microsoft Store Confirms Silent Hill 2 Remake Is Coming to Xbox Series on November 21

Silent Hill 2 Remake is a reinterpretation of Konami’s classic horror game originally released in 2001. Developed by Bloober Team (Layers of Fear, The Medium), it serves as a complete reimagining—similar to what Resident Evil 2 Remake achieved with its original counterpart. The remake offers a fresh perspective, audiovisual upgrades, and modernized gameplay in line with today’s survival horror standards.

Originally launched on October 8, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, Konami signed a one-year exclusivity deal with Sony, preventing the game from appearing on other consoles during that period. Shortly before the contract ended, the Bloober Team website was updated, leaving room for two new platform logos—most likely Xbox Series and the rumored Switch 2.

Xbox Release Details and Editions

According to TrueAchievements, the game’s listing on the Microsoft Store confirms compatibility with Xbox Series and PC. While the page does not display a release date, the outlet claims to have accessed the store’s backend, revealing that the release is scheduled for November 21.

The game will be available in two editions: Standard and Deluxe. The Deluxe Edition includes a digital art book, digital soundtrack, and a cosmetic digital item—a Pyramid Head pizza box. Additionally, a bundle featuring Silent Hill 2 Remake and the recently released Silent Hill f will launch on the same day.

In other news, Bloober Team, the developer of the Silent Hill 2 remake and Cronos: The New Dawn, aims to release major titles at an accelerated pace as part of its strategy to lead the horror genre.
