MONOPOLY Joins PopCap’s Lucky Gem Casino Lineup on Facebook

PopCap Games, the worldwide leader in casual games, today welcomed MONOPOLY Party, an engaging reel spinning game based on the iconic Hasbro brand, to the Lucky Gem Casino™. A free, casino-themed social game experience available exclusively on Facebook, PopCap’s Lucky Gem Casino has already attracted one million users and half a billion spins since its launch just eight weeks ago.

Under license from Hasbro, MONOPOLY Party marks the first instance of third party content coming to the casino-themed experience and also represents Hasbro’s first offering in the dynamic casino-themed social games genre. Lucky Gem Casino launched with seven custom-created luck-based games featuring imagery and characters from some of PopCap’s most beloved titles including Bejeweled®, Bookworm®, Chuzzle®, and Zuma®. PopCap’s BAFTA-winning Peggle® was added a few weeks ago.

Bart Barden, franchise business director at PopCap said: “We are delighted to welcome the iconic MONOPOLY brand from Hasbro into the Lucky Gem Casino. We’ve worked hard to create a spinning reel game experience that truly reflects the shared fun and excitement of MONOPOLY as represented across a wide range of gaming platforms while also maintaining the ultra-high standards that MONOPOLY fans expect.”

Lucky Gem Casino allows Facebook users to play alone or with friends. Players can compare their winnings, chat in real-time with friends, play mini-games and share unique game content. The games are free to play and players may purchase virtual currency in the form of Facebook credits to accelerate and increase the fun. All spinning reel games available at the Lucky Gem Casino are free to play with payouts occurring only in virtual currency, which are not redeemable or transferrable for cash.
