More Intel Coffee Lake Processors Arriving February 14

Intel‘s 14nm+ Coffee Lake processors launched a few months ago, but supplies have been very low. Even the motherboards were limited to only the fully unlocked Z370 variant, with no presence of B360 or H310 chipsets. According to VideoCardz.com, more new models are actually coming soon leaked by an Australian e-tailer. The launch date is set at February 14, Valentine’s day. This would introduce the new i5-8500 and i5-9600 CPU, as well as new Pentium models.

More Intel i3 and i5 Coffee Lake Models

This i5-8500 is the CPU which leaked out from the SiSoft Sandra database recently. It is a 6-core/6-thread CPU similar to the i5-8400. However, both the i5-8500 and i5-8600 are expected to bring modest MHz bumps of 100MHz each from the 2.8GHz base clock. Considering the i5-8400 has a 4.0GHz Turbo clock, it would be interesting to see where these two land.

Naturally, they will also have a higher price. From e-tailer leak, the i5-8500 and i5-8600 costs 290 and 329 AUD respectively. In comparison, the i5-8400 costs 270 AUD from the same e-tailer.

An i3-8300 displacing the i3-8100 is also expected for 211 AUD vs 182 AUD. It is also a 4C/4T processor and adds 100MHz more to the i3-8100 3.6GHz base clock.

Even More Pentium Models and Possibly B360/H310 Motherboards

Intel is also releasing five Pentium models. Three of which are 2C/4T CPUs under the Pentium G5 family. While two more are part of the Pentium G4 family with 2C/2T configurations. Introducing hyper-threading to some of these Pentium CPUs is an interesting move from Intel. These puts them in a very competitive position against AMD’s Ryzen 3 line. Especially with the base model 2C/4T G5400 costing 97 AUD.

Since they are releasing more affordable CPUs, it also makes sense if Intel releases B360 and H310 motherboards to go along with it as well. It does not make sense to shell out $200 for a Z370 motherboard for an locked multiplier Pentium.
