Mountain is a bit of a favourite in the office with several Everest Max keyboards in use and although I’m more of a Logitech fan myself, it’s always nice to see new products from the company with the introduction of the new Makalu Max mouse.
Mountain Makalu Max Gaming Mouse
The Makalu Max stays true to the core pillars of MOUNTAIN offering innovative features, peak performance, stylish and ergonomic design as well as unparalleled customization. The Makalu Max delivers on modularity and freedom of choice with the ability to alter the weight with three included weight discs as well as the shape of the mouse with two sets of modular side grips. The mouse can become a slim precision tool, a bold ergonomic powerhouse or even a mix of both. Further customization involves the RGB illumination which surrounds the scroll wheel and DPI buttons which is fully customizable to your preferences.
The Makalu Max is a wireless mouse which uses zero-lag 2.4GHz RF connectivity and is paired up with an 80-hour battery life. Included with the mouse is a 1.8m paracord-like Lifeline USB Type-C cable. The zero-lag connection ensures that the powerful PIXART PAW3370 sensor with up to 19000 DPI can deliver peak performance and high precision plus it has a low power consumption compared to other sensors.
The Makalu Max is equipped with 8 freely customizable buttons with a bold sniper button in the thumb area and two DPI buttons alongside the common mouse buttons. Both the left and right click buttons are equipped with Kailh GM 8.0 microswitches which are rated for at least 80 million actuations providing long-lasting performance and satisfying clicks. With modularity being the key focus of this mouse Mountain has also provided STL files for these modular pieces allowing you to edit them with your own custom colours or however you please.
