MSI Afterburner Now Unofficially Supports RX 9000 and RTX 50 Graphics Cards
A well-known developer named “Unwinder” has added support for AMD‘s RX 9000 series graphics cards in MSI Afterburner. This support is unofficial and future-oriented, especially since MSI has yet to release any RDNA 4-based graphics cards.
Can You Benefit from This Support?
Although the support is unofficial, if you’re an owner of an RX 9000 card, you can still benefit from it. The MSI Afterburner allows you to overclock your card, change fan speeds, display frame rates, and access many other features the software provides.
To use MSI Afterburner with the new AMD cards, all you need to do is download it from the Guru3D website. The available download version is MSI Afterburner 4.6.6 Beta 6 Build 16591, along with the companion tool RTS Setup 7.3.7 Beta 7 Build 28220. This tool provides an overlay interface to display performance data such as FPS, GPU temperature while gaming, processor temperature, and other important metrics.
Support for RTX 50 Graphics Cards as Well?
In addition to supporting the RX 9000 cards, the software has also added support for Nvidia‘s “RTX 50” series, according to the announcement on the site. This most likely refers to the RTX 5050 card. Overall, this unofficial version of the software allows overclocking of Nvidia’s new cards up to more than 3000 MHz.
