MSI have been teasing their new graphics cards for a few weeks now. First they teased images of their new TwinFrozr V graphics card cooler and more recently they teased their new GTX 9xx graphics card design; now we have even more details to share with you!
The new MSI Geforce GTX 970 Twin Frozr V graphics card is easily the best 970 we’ve seen so far; it features two 100mm propeller-blade fans fitted into a new black and red shroud. The new cooler design looks like complete overkill for the 148W TDP this card produces, but that extra cooling should allow for extra overclocking headroom.
The card features 1664 CUDA cores, a factory overclock of 1140 MHz and a boost clock of 1279 MHz, 4GB of GDDR5 memory and a 256-bit interface. Interestingly this is the first GTX 970 card I’ve seen that features 8+6 power connectors, compared to the 6+6 connectors featured on all the other cards we’ve seen so far.
Connectivity is handed by DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI and a DisplayPort connector. The card is expected to launch on Friday, but prices for this model are currently unknown.
