MSI has just posted a reveal trailer for its latest product release. The reveal trailer suggests that an MSI Lightning product is being released soon. No doubt given that we have not seen the MSI GTX 780 Lightning graphics card yet, this is probably what the reveal trailer is for.
Apparently the GTX 780 Lightning from MSI features redundant BIOS, a BIOS without limits/protections/fail safes and thus will be overclockable beyond Nvidia limits. This will be one of the first GK110 based Nvidia GPUs to support this. We don’t know much about the design but we could see a similar Twin Frozr IV cooling solution like we have on the GTX 780 Gaming Series graphics card. This uses two enlarged 10cm/100mm fans. It will probably be an identical cooling solution just we some yellow strips or paint for the Lightning effect. Most of the differences will be on the PCB in terms of BIOS, VRM and other power features plus a cherry picked speed binned selection of GPUs.
