MSI Introduces AIO Gaming Desktops with GTX 980M and 970M

MSI have launched their latest two All-In-One desktop systems aimed at gamers, the AG270 2QE and the AG270 2QC. These are the first AIO systems to feature the newest Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M and 970M discrete graphics cards, but that’s just one of the many features added to improve the gaming experience.

The only difference between the two new models is the graphics card that is either the GTX 970M with 6GB VRAM or the GTX980M with 8GB VRAM depending on the model and both these graphics cards should run your latest games without any trouble.

The AG270 All-in-One has a 27-inch LED screen that runs at a resolution of 1920 x 1080. It features Multi-touch with 10 points and has Anti-Flicker, Anti-Glare and Less Blue Light technologies to reduce the eyestrain when having those marathon gaming sessions. There is also a 2 megapixel HD webcam built-in for the streaming or video-chat sessions.

MSI has teamed up with Yamaha for the sound and they are using 5W + 5W speakers and an amplifier within the AG270. Each speaker features a built-in full-range monomer, and an independent subwoofer monomer to form a 2-way speaker system.

Both models are powered by a 4th generation Intel Core i7-4860HQ quad-core processor with a base speed of 2.4GHz and a Turbo mode up to 3.6GHz. The Intel HM87 Chipset is in control and the system supports up to 16GB DDR3 SO-DIMM over two slots.

When we get to the storage, the whole thing gets very interesting. Both models have the MSI Super Raid 2 that supports three mSATA SSDs in RAID 0 for read speeds up to 1500 MB/s. Of course, there’s also a 3.5-inch 7200RPM SATA Harddisk available. For the external storage requirements, it has a tray-in DVD Super Multi & Blu-Ray writer and a 3-in-1 card reader.

In order to provide all the connectivity a gamer could want, MSI have added the Killer LAN E2205 Gigabit Ethernet controller with its well-known QoS system designed for streams and gaming. The wireless part is covered by an Intel Dual-band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11ac and Bluetooth module.

There are plenty of connection options on this all-in-one wonder with four USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports. One of the USB 3 ports supports super-charging. It has one HDMI-in and one HDMI-out as well as a D-Sub VGA out. Internally it has two Mini PCI-E expansion slots where one is covered by the Wi-Fi module and the other one can be filled with an optional TV Tuner card, or anything else you’d like that exists in that expansion form-factor.

Nvidia’s new graphics cards barely use any power, so a 230W AC adapter is enough to power this entire machine. It measures 672.23 x 66 x 482.96 mm and it weighs 16.15kg. No word on pricing or availability yet.
