MSI Launches the MAG X870E Tomahawk Max WiFi PZ for Next-Gen AMD AM5 Systems
MSI has unveiled a new motherboard for the AM5 socket — the MAG X870E Tomahawk Max WiFi PZ, designed for performance enthusiasts and high-end setups.
Enhanced Design and Power Delivery
This model arrives as a powerful upgrade within the Ryzen ecosystem, offering native support for upcoming generations of AMD CPUs.
The motherboard stands out for its robust construction, featuring an 8-layer PCB with 2 oz copper and a 14+2+1 power phase system using 80A DrMOS modules. This ensures stable power delivery even during intense overclocking sessions.
The X870E Tomahawk Max WiFi PZ includes three PCIe slots — one PCIe 5.0 x16, one PCIe 4.0 x4, and one PCIe 3.0 x1. For storage, it provides four M.2 NVMe slots (two PCIe 5.0 and two PCIe 4.0) along with four SATA III 6 Gb/s ports. One of the PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots shares bandwidth with a USB4 port, showing the high level of integration this motherboard offers.
High-Speed Memory and Connectivity
In terms of memory, the board supports up to 192 GB of DDR5 at speeds up to 8400 MT/s when paired with Ryzen 9000 series processors. Connectivity options include a 5 GbE Ethernet port, Wi-Fi 7 (320 MHz), and Bluetooth 5.4.
The rear I/O panel offers two USB4 40 Gb/s ports with DisplayPort 1.4 support, HDMI 2.1, multiple high-speed USB-A and USB-C ports, and a Realtek ALC4080 audio codec with optical S/PDIF output.
With these features, the MSI MAG X870E Tomahawk Max WiFi PZ stands as an excellent choice for users seeking a modern, stable, and future-ready AM5 system.
