MSI MAG CH110 Gaming Chair Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The MSI MAG CH110 Gaming Chair is available right now from most major retailers. Albeit, the stock is sporadic right now, as is the stock of most items in this crazy lockdown. However, I know you’ll find one for around £279.99 if you’re eager. You can keep tabs on the current stock in the UK via Amazon here and in the US here.

Overview

I quite like this chair, it’s not perfect, but I would still be quite happy to own one myself. Most of my issues come from it not having a few small features that I get from my noblechairs, but again, that’s another £200 more expensive, so I have to be realistic with my analysis.

Improvements

I’d like to see MSI have a more rigid adjustment on turning the armrests to other angles. The gas lift adjustment level could be less droopy, and also offer tilt locking. Plus, the straps for the lumbar cushion don’t always sit flush with the chair back. That’s honestly it, not really deal-breakers at all, but it would improve the chair in my opinion.

Durable

Build quality is actually really good, all the issues above aren’t because it’s poorly made, they’re more small design issues if anything. The seat has a heavy-duty steel frame construction, with a metal 5-point base, durable wheels, thick PU leather, hard-wearing memory foam. It’s tough, it’s well stiched, it’s nicely details and the colours really pop too. MSI made a lot of good choices when it came to picking materials, that’s for sure.

Should I Buy One?

This chair clearly isn’t for everyone, it’s visually very loud with it’s almost obnoxious black and red racer/gamer design. It wouldn’t look right in most office spaces, that’s for sure. However, for that ultimate gaming setup, with all your matching black and red MSI hardware, it’s going to look amazing. I think the price is pretty reasonable purely for the build quality you get. You’ll find similar-looking chairs for a lot less, but trust me, they’re nothing alike.
