MSI is expanding their gaming product line with the availability of a new gaming monitor. The MSI Optix MAG24C is a full-HD 1080p monitor with a curved display. Full-HD resolution might not pack as many pixels as a 4K UHD display, but it does serve those with more modest video cards. Besides, that’s what anti-aliasing is for anyway.
The VA panel has a viewing angle of 178°(H) x 178°(V), 3000:1 contrast ratio and 250 nits of brightness. As for gaming credentials? It has 1ms moving-picture response time (MPRT). This is a more accurate response time representation of motion blur than gray-to-gray (GTG). The panel also has a 144Hz refresh rate. The MAG24C also has a wide color gamut coverage of 85% NTSC & 110% sRGB. Which means it also looks great for watching movies and productivity such as photo editing.
As for display connectors, it has a dual-link DVI port, an HDMI and a DisplayPort. However, this HDMI port only supports up to 120Hz. So if users want to take advantage of the 144Hz panel, they should connect with a dual-link DVI cable or a DisplayPort.
The MSI Optix MAG24C is now available worldwide on retail stores such as Amazon or NewEgg.com for $249.99 USD.
