For Far Cry Primal, it’s clear that the RTX 2070 is no slouch yet again. It kept a good pace and fell in just 1FPS behind that of the GTX 2070, but a few ahead of the VEGA 64. Again, I could have predicted this frame rate at this point. It’s certainly not a bad thing, and short of an RTX 2080 or 2080 Ti, there’s nothing faster out there than these cards really. It beat its rivals at 4K though, with a very respectable 59 FPS. 60 FPS would have looked better, but I’m not going to start splitting hairs over that one, it’s more than playable and very impressive for 4K.

This is a more demanding game at times, with a strong dependence on the CPU for the busy environments. However, the RTX does well, pulling ahead of the GTX 1080 by a small amount, and leaving the VEGA 64 in its dust. At 1080p, performance isn’t a million miles off the GTX 1080 Ti, and RTX 2080. Even at 4K, it managed to hit an average of 53.94 FPS, which is honestly more than enough for great gameplay.
