MSI Shows Off RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z and RTX 2060's

Lightning Z

There are quite a few extreme RTX cards on the market already. However, the best of the best are still to reach the market. Brands are hard at work finding the best chipsets, the best power delivery, the highest overclocks, and the best coolers. Of course, MSI looks like they’re almost ready to join the fight. The new Lightning Z was shown at CES 2019, and it looks stunning. Blending a black and gold colour theme, even on those stunning fans! There’s a built-in OLED display down the sde, and a black backplate that gives everything a premium quality look.

It comes equipped with some stylish RGB LEDs, although to be honest, I think they look cheap and I’d rather have them turned off myself. There don’t appear to be any lights on the middle fan either, maybe they’ll fix that at release, but I really don’t know.

It’s a triple slot card, and it’s not exactly short on length or width either. The cooler is bloody huge, but if that means lower temperatures and higher clock speeds, then I’m certainly on board with this.

The OLED display is pretty dope, showing performance readouts and more. It can be customised too, so you can have it showcase whatever image or text you desire. It’ll gobble power through a triple 8-pin setup, and comes with extra BIOS for extreme overclocking scenarios.

No word on price, but I can tell you now, it will be expensive. If you’re out to set some world records, this is likely going to be the card to get you results.

RTX 2060

The show wouldn’t be complete without their new RTX 2060 cards either. It’ll come in three variants, RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6G, Ventus 6G OC, and AERO ITX 6G OC. The GAming Z is the top model, offering an 1830 MHz speed, while the other two are just stock at 1710 MHz. The Aero will just be the stock blower single fan version; not very interesting. However, the other two will be more tuned towards the gaming market with dual fan coolers and better aesthetics.
