How Much Does it Cost?
The MSI Vigor GK50 Low-Profile Gaming Keyboard is available now. However, while many flagship mechanical keyboards cost well over £100, this one is priced much more reasonably. At just £89.99, even the price is slim. Of course, that’s still not “cheap” but it’s a very well made and very well equipped keyboard, so you get what you pay for.
Overview
MSI has a strong reputation for delivering fantastic gaming hardware. From their amazing motherboards to their kick-ass gaming monitors. Of course, their peripherals too. The new Vigor GK50 doesn’t offer anything particularly innovative, I mean, we’ve seen slim keyboards before. However, the introduction of the latest Kailh switches does give it a bit of an edge.
Low-Profile
Speed and performance is everything when it comes to gaming. I know that having good peripherals doesn’t make you a pro overnight. However, the GK50 does have a few features that can give you the edge in competition. With a shorter travel distance, the switches are much faster to strike than most mechanical switches. That means less time from moving your finger to getting the action on the screen. Milliseconds can make the difference in competitive gaming!
Mechanical
There aren’t many options out there from slim mechanical keyboards, so it’s certainly nice to have another option on the market. I’d love to see them make a TKL version of this too; slim and compact, it would be awesome for the travelling LAN gamers out there.
Of course, despite the smaller switch and slimmer design, they’ve still crammed in all their latest RGB tech too. Having per-key lighting is great for setting up gaming profiles. Of course, it’s good for throwing up some rainbow colours to please your inner child too.
Should I Buy One?
The stylish brushed metal finish, those fantastic custom shaped keycaps, and per-key RGB lighting. The MSI GK50 Low Profile is certainly ticking all the right boxes. It’s well made, it’s great for gaming, and the price is competitive too. What’s not to love!
