MSI X299 Tomahawk Arctic Motherboard Revealed

MSI X299 Tomahawk Arctic

MSI has just revealed one of the latest additions to their upcoming X299 motherboard range. the New X299 Tomahawk Arctic is pretty much the same as their non-Arctic edition. However, as you can see from the pictures, it has been given a very slick makeover.

As Cool as Ice

The new motherboard comes equipped with a white and grey theme. The white PCB looks stunning enough on its own. Of course, the addition of white DIMM slots, white PCIe slots, and white hardware on the shrouds and cooling components help complete the design. If you’re building a monochrome themed system with a white GPU, lighting and more, this is a nice option for you.

Intel Core-X Support

The motherboard packs plenty of features to satisfy the needs of those investing in the new Core-X series of CPUs from Intel. You’ll find it comes with a robust power delivery with an 8-pin EPC and 24-pin ATX connector. This runs through a 9-phase VRM for the CPU, and a 4-phase for the memory. Of course, that means overclocking should be pretty decent.

On top of that, you’ll find 8 x DIMM slots for DDR4 memory. There are four full-size PCIe lanes for expansion cards too, so multi-GPU configurations shouldn’t be a problem, and the first and third slots are reinforced with armour, helping deal with today’s heavier graphics cards.

Storage is looking good too, with 2 x M.2 and 1 x U.2 slots. There are 8 x SATA 6Gb/s ports, and GbE networking with The latest Intel i219-V controller.

Finally, you’ll also find the Realtek ALC1150 CODEC, with dedicated capacitors, ground isolation and more.

Price and Availability

Unfortunately, we do not have a release date or price. However, we would expect it to be fairly competitive and around the same price as their non-Arctic model. We’ll bring you more information as soon as we can.
