MSI Z170A TOMAHAWK (LGA1151) Motherboard Review

Memory Performance

AIDA64 Engineer

In terms of memory bandwidth, the motherboard manages decent figures but the read rate is slightly behind other Z170 options. In the grand scheme of things, it’s not a big deal and you’re unlikely to notice the performance deficit outside of synthetic testing.

SiSoft Sandra

On a more positive note, the memory performance is significantly better during the Sandra benchmark and demonstrates the motherboard’s ability to output good numbers.

Combined Latency Test

When it comes to latency, the motherboard does brilliantly and maintains low figures in both Aida64 and SiSoft Sandra.
