Ncore Retro Keyboard Announced by Nanoxia

Nanoxia may be better known for their pc cases, but it looks like their latest effort is heading for the peripherals market, with the upcoming release of their Nanoxia Ncore Retro Keyboard. The Ncore certainly looks unique, blending a modern gaming keyboard with a finish that looks like an old-fashioned typewriter.

  • US-Layout
  • 104 mechanical keys
  • Kahil White switches
  • Anti-Ghosting
  • N-Key Rollover
  • 1000 Hz-Ultrapolling
  • FN-Key functionality
  • Chromium plating

The new keyboard features a chrome finish, with silver enclosed key caps that feature a classic circular design. Sure, this keyboard looks interesting, and while it is admittedly an acquired taste, we love it simply because it’s a little bit different. Don’t dismiss this as a cheap steampunk knockoff though, as you’ll find it comes with a fully mechanical key layout, which features Kaihl White switches for that lovely clickity clack feedback, 6-Key and N-Key rollover, Windows Key lock and 12 multimedia keys, so there’s no doubt it can keep up with the usual modern keyboard designs.

“The keyboard sports Kaihl White Switches to give the user the haptic feeling of writing with a typewriter. The operation force is approx. 50 cN, while the full tactile force is 60 cN. The switches offer a pronounced and precisely detectable switching point. The Kaihl White switches use a more solid key shaft with gold contact and offer a life expectancy of 70 million hits per key.” – Nanoxia

With a unique design, removable key caps that allow you to change the keyboard layout, a water-resistant design and much more, the Ncore is sure to make a few gamers happy. There is a downside, however, as this keyboard clocks in at 109.99 EUR, which may just be a little too much for some.

Pre-orders have begun in Germany already, and there will be three models available, US, UK, and DE.

What do you think or the Ncore? Is the design a little too extreme, or are you already throwing your money at the screen trying to buy one?
