Netflix Thanks GTA 6 as Traffic Jumps 35% Following New Trailer Premiere
The partnership between Rockstar Games and Netflix for the early showing of the new GTA 6 trailer has caused a lot of discussion. Looking at the results, however, it seems that the deal has paid off.
According to data from Sensor Tower, mobile viewing on Netflix in the United States increased by 35% compared to the hour before the extended GTA 6 presentation on the platform. The excitement created by the presentation also caused Netflix’s website to become overloaded, with web traffic 125% higher than average.

On top of that, the analytics company also reported a 50% increase in users of the Netflix mobile app compared to the average recorded during the same time period over the previous 12 Thursdays.
Abe Yousef, senior analyst at Sensor Tower, revealed that Netflix benefited from the GTA 6 gameplay presentation, which strengthened its position as an all-around entertainment hub while also attracting new subscribers.
As a result, Netflix apparently received a strong return on its million-dollar investment, while Rockstar managed to reach a new group of consumers through the streaming service.
In other news, GTA 6 could feature some of the most impressive graphics ever, with advanced lighting, realistic characters and a stable 30 fps.
