New AMD Ryzen AI 400 Processors Revealed in Shipping Documents
Shipping documents often provide clues about upcoming products that may be released in the future or added to current or previous generations. In this case, new AMD Ryzen processors have been spotted, most likely corresponding to the AI 400 series, also known as Gorgon Point. These processors are not expected until at least 2026 and will succeed the current Ryzen AI 300 series, the Strix Point processors.
Shipping Documents Reveal New AMD Processors
In this new shipping document, there are references to processors that have not been used before. However, the documents do not provide much information on these rumored new AMD APUs. According to VideoCardz, these new processors may belong to the upcoming Gorgon Point series, which is essentially an update to the current Strix Point. This means the new chips will feature Zen 5 cores, RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics, and an XDNA 2 NPU.
It seems that this refresh will not introduce many significant changes, beyond adding new references for the entry-level and mid-range Ryzen 3 and Ryzen 5 series. The shipping documents do not appear to include any of these new potential references; rather, they focus on the Ryzen 9 series with 10 and 12 cores, which, in any case, are also new. However, these new Gorgon Point processors will likely have the same specifications as the Strix Point processors, except for slightly higher clock speeds.
Currently, no additional information is available regarding this future line of AMD processors, other than the fact that they are expected to be updated in the coming year.
